In “Face Matter” Felicia Noelle, Diyah Najah, Timothy Short, and Brandon Maddox exhibit breathtaking artworks in the show that celebrates artists of color this January and February, 2021. With various styles and various art forms, this group show exemplifies a unified message – the freedom to express as a creator.
The “Face Matter” exhibit proposes a theme that begs the question, what are we made of? And what are we born to make?
Just like we can not define what we are each made of, the answers for life are limitless. We are meant to explore it all and dance among the matter of life. Come view the gallery show and dance through visions of matter, all while we celebrate the creators.
(Check our social media and website Artsdouglas.org for updates on the reception.)

On Tuesday, February 16 at 12:30 pm, the Douglasville Police Department is working in conjunction with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to distribute food to households in need. This “free food drive thru” is on a first come, first serve basis while the food lasts. It is our goal to make this fast and easy. As vehicles enter for the distribution, they will line up and meet with a volunteer who will be asking reference households and then the vehicle will continue through the line where the food will be placed into the vehicle. The food will be placed either in the trunk or backseat, no need for anyone to exit the vehicle.
On Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 am, the Douglasville Police Department is holding a Day of Unity on the front steps of the Douglasville Public Safety Complex. Local community leaders will be speaking about bringing the community together and listening to the people. Get involved by joining these leaders at the Douglasville Police Department as we work together to be “one with our community”. We ask that everyone wear a mask and social distance.
Seating will be available for the event. Open to the public.
(In the case of inclement weather, the rain date is February 27 at 10:00 am)
